Cypherpunk is not an aesthetic. It is the patient practice of turning rights into capabilities—implemented in code, maintained in public, and defended together.
01 / Sovereignty
Agency must be operational.
A right that depends on permanent permission is a rental. We build systems people can inspect, run, exit, repair, and carry with them. Sovereignty is not isolation; it is the capacity to choose relationships without being trapped inside them.
02 / Privacy
Privacy makes freedom possible.
Privacy is the space in which a person can think, associate, and change. We minimize collection, reject behavioral surveillance, and prefer designs in which sensitive data never needs to exist.
03 / Security
Security is collective work.
Strong primitives are not enough. Secure systems depend on clear threat models, humane defaults, careful operations, and peers willing to review difficult decisions. We share failures without spectacle and treat maintenance as first-class work.
04 / Commons
Knowledge compounds when open.
Open source turns private insight into shared capability. We document what we learn, contribute upstream, and steward infrastructure that benefits people beyond our immediate circle. Openness yields only where it does not put people at risk.
05 / Responsibility
Trust follows demonstrated care.
The guild has an open entrance and protected interiors. Access is granted through contribution, good judgment, and mutual accountability. No token purchases trust. No public score captures it. Reputation lives in the memory of people who have worked together.
We do not promise a frictionless future. We commit to building one with more exits, more dignity, and more power at the edges.
